The New Testament was written in Greek because at that time, Greek was the common unifying language across the Mediterranean world in trade and business , much like English is the common language across much of the world today in trade and business. Yet, billions of people don't speak English at home with friends and family. At home and in their local communities they will speak the local language of that community or people group. The Lord Jesus and His disciples were Israeli Jews and the common spoken language was Aramaic, which is extremely similar to Hebrew, which was used for reading the Word Of GOD. Whilst John wrote out the Book of Revelation in Greek so that it could be read and understood by many people in many nations, he would have heard the words of The LORD Jesus in Aramaic. John was a fisherman from Galilee, not an academic scholar. Why would The Lord Jesus suddenly speak to him in Greek when his entire relationship with The Lord Jesus and the other disciples had been in Aramaic!? Throughout the Gospels and New Testament, there are several examples of Aramaic words still included in the text. Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. In both Hebrew and Aramaic those letters are Aleph and Tav.
In ancient Hebrew pictograms Aleph is depicted as an ox, meaning strength (of the house), Father and sacrifice. The letter Tav is depicted by a cross, exactly like a cross of crucifiction. Thus, the plan of Redemption is revealed in these words "I Am The Aleph And Tav". Our LORD GOD Who is, Who was and Who is to come, is also the One Who has laid down His life on our behalf, and been the sacrifice for our sin. Selah.

The third and final part of this study of Leviticus 19:16-18
Here we focus on verse 18.
Firstly we are not to seek revenge, nor are we to bear a grudge. The word 'revenge' in Hebrew is 'naqam' meaning to to seek to punish someone for wronging us. The word 'grudge' is 'natar' which means to guard, keep, cherish or maintain. Do we cherish or pet unforgiveness, bitterness and anger within our hearts? It is a deadly poison. We are warned in Matthew 6:14 that if we don't forgive others their sins, our Father in Heaven will not forgive our sins. The Hebrew text says we are literally to" love to our neighbour ", to paraphrase this is" do acts of love to your neighbour ". Love requires a response and action. Love is never passive. The parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-35 tells us that our neighbour is anyone who needs our help. Any human being, including those still within the womb. Do we walk on the other side concerning anyone?
In fact The Lord Jesus takes loving othersc to an even higher level when in Matthew 5:44 when He connands us to love our enemies and in John 13:34 He commands us to love others as He has loved us.... to look on those who inflict pain upon us and say "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" This is the supernatural love of GOD for all human beings from the womb to the grave, regardless of whether they are able or have the will to acknowledge that love. We can't do this apart from the Holy Spirit, but we are told that with Him, all things are possible ( Matthew 19:26)

This is the final part of our mini series on the garments of the High Priest.
The High Priest wore a turban representing submission to the will of God. Our LORD Jesus always did the will of The Father ( John 6:38, Luke 22:41-42, Philippians 2:8). The plate or crown of pure gold was fastened to the turban with blue ribbons, representing God's incorruptible and unchanging nature with Divine Grace. The forehead through the Scriptures symbolizes the will, the mind and thoughts. In Revelation 14:9 and 17:5 those who follow The Beast are marked on their foreheads. The great harlot of Revelation 17:4-5 has her name written on her forehead. Those who follow The Lamb have His Name upon their foreheads ( Revelation 22:4). Our Great High Priest took His own blood into The Holy Presence of GOD in Heaven and has obtained redemption for all who personally believe in Him as Saviour ( Hebrews 9:12) and He has been exalted to the highest place and given The Name above all names ( Philippians 2:8-11). Glory to GOD for ever more!

Nothing God says or does is without purpose and meticulous planning. The details in the construction of these garments of the High Priest reveal much to us about our LORD God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The "curious girdle" of Exodus 28:8 is a skillfully woven waistband or belt/sash that bound all the garments together. It speaks of being prepared for service. Our Great High Priest is still serving His people as He ever lives to make intercession for them ( Hebrews 7 :25). The Son Of Man came not to be served, but to serve. (Mark 10:45) The Holy Spirit comes to us and binds us to The LORD in close fellowship and no one can snatch us from His hands because we are tied and woven into Him by His Spirit. ( John 10:28). Each of us was woven or knitted together within our mother's womb by our Creator. Glory to His Holy Name forever more.

In the book of Exodus the colours gold, blue, purple and scarlet are listed in that order 24 times. God is telling us something that is important.
Gold is Incorruptible and speaks of the Incorruptible life of our Great High Priest Who is the same yesterday, today and forever ( Hebrews 7:16 and 13:8).
Blue represents Divinity and Grace. Jesus Christ is the grace of God (Titus 2:11)Purple comes next but firstly look at Scarlet red
which comes from a worm called cochineal. This is the worm our LORD said He was on the cross ( Psalm 22:6) It represents the Adamic fallen nature. The name Adam means red earth. It also speaks of the blood of our LORD shed for us as The Lamb of GOD.
Purple is made by mixing the 2 colours red and blue together. Purple therefore represents Christ our Mediator. (1 Tim 2:5) Purple speaks of how God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. What a glorious and awesome Great High Priest we have. Hallelujah.

The blue robe of the High Priest is trimmed with alternate golden bells and pomegranates made of blue, purple and scarlet. The pomegranate is the fruit with the most seeds in the world. One fruit can contain up to 1200 seeds! The bells represent testimony. The pomegranates represent fruit, the Fruit of The Spirit ( Galatians 5:22-23) The bells and fruit are in equal number, a perfect harmony between testimony and fruit. We are known by our fruit. ( Matthew 7:16 Luke 6:44)
The tongue of a bell is the part inside that swings to make the bell ring. Every bell has a mouth and lips and a tongue. Psalm 133 tells us of the Anointing of The Holy Spirit flowing from the head of Aaron, representing The Lord Jesus out Great High Priest, on to his robes upon his body, which is His people. In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit was poured out upon His church causing tongues to be anointed in testimony and praise together with a new heart and the Fruit of The Spirit being formed within us.
Hallelujah!!

The White Coat of fine linen of the High Priest representing the righteousness and sinless perfection of our LORD is covered by the blue robe worn on top of it.( Exodus 28:31-32)
Blue represents Heaven and God's Divine Grace. The blue of God's Grace covers the Truth of God's Holiness. John 1:17 "grace and truth came through Jesus Christ"
Truth reveals.
Grace heals.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all people "
Salvation is available for every repentant sinner through the unmerited favour of GOD in Jesus Christ Who is both The Sacrificed Lamb of GOD and our Great High Priest.

The first of the seven garments of the High Priest is The Linen Coat, a foundation under garment made of fine linen. The word "coat" is translated from the Hebrew word "kethoneth" meaning a covering to cover or hide. It is the same word used in Genesis 3 :21 where God Himself made Adam and Eve "kethoneth" to cover them through the first death and first shedding of blood of an innocent animal substitute which speaks of the death of The Lamb of God Himself, our Lord Jesus . The fine linen represents spotless perfection. Our Great High Priest is both fully God and fully man. He is made unto us both righteousness and redemption. Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
