The tribe of Gad was a fierce contender of both FAITH and FAMILY. They gave their best to contend for the righteousness of GOD and the wellbeing of all members of the people of Israel. We as God's called out people, His own children born again of His Spirit, are both His Family and His Army, commanded to contend for our faith ( Jude 1:3), to occupy until He comes (Luke 19:13)and to care for every member of the Body of Christ.(1 Corinthians 12:11-27)
Gad knew in warfare to attack not only the "arm" of their enemies, the footsoldiers, but also the "crown of the head", the rulers. ( Deuteronomy 33:20-21) Ephesians 6:12 tells us who our enemies are in this present darkness. As we seek to uphold Biblical Christian values in our society, our war is not with the people who sit in government but their puppet masters behind them. Babies within the womb are killed in clinics by people who are actually being used by demonic entities to perform child sacrifice, whether they are aware of it or not. The worship of self is actually the worship of Satan who feeds off of the destruction of the image of GOD in the innocent purity of babies in the womb, carefully crafted in love by God Himself. May we seek to be like the tribe of Gad and be defenders of both faith and family. Shalom.

God's plan of Redemption in Christ Jesus was hidden, concealed, conceived within His heart until physically conceived in the womb of Mary, birthed, lived, died, buried and raised from the dead. Yet The Bible tells us that Messiah, Christ, The Lamb of GOD was slain before GOD ever created the universe or mankind. (See 1 Peter 1:20, Revelation 13:8) The plan of Redemption was hidden for a time like a baby is hidden in the concealed of it's mother's womb. ( See Colossians 1:26 and Romans 16:25).
The Hebrew New Year is called the "birth of the world" as Jews remember the creation of the universe and mankind being created in His image. ( See Genesis 1:1 and verses 26-27) Elul is the last Hebrew month of the Hebrew calendar and every month is represented by one of the 12 tribes of Israel. The month of Elul is represented by the tribe of Gad.
The name Gad is linked in Hebrew thought to the concealment of the baby within the womb, totally innocent, and with huge hidden potential, planned and placed there by GOD long before our physical conception in the womb of our mother . ( See Psalm 139:15 Jeremiah 1:5 and Isaiah 49:1-2) From Genesis to Revelation the wondrous wisdom of GOD and the value He places on the babe within the womb is declared. To His disciples The LORD Jesus says: " To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 13:11 and Psalms 25:14 says that the secret of the LORD is with them that fear Him.

During the month of Elul there is much emphasis on searching the heart and returning to our first love of of our Precious LORD. God's standards are always inward, not outward. Like geodes we may appear rough and crude on the outside but on the inside GOD is at work making what is very precious in His sight. The Holy Spirit continues working with us and bringing forth beautiful treasures from within us as we yield to Him.
There are also those who outwardly may seem glossy and polished, but are resistant to God's Word and rot from within. Our outerman is our reputation with people but the hidden man of the heart is our reputation with God. The heart of the matter is always the heart.. Selah

In Jeremiah 7:24 The LORD declares that His people have not "inclined their ear" to Him. They have gone away from Him, turned their backs on His face and done what their evil and stubborn hearts prompted them to do. In doing so, they have gone into reverse gear and gone backwards instead of forwards. What a perfect description of the United Kingdom and much of the world today in 2025. The nation that once sent the Gospel to every corner of the earth has gone into reverse gear and has been accelerating in reverse for many decades now. What about us as individuals however? A nation is made up of many individuals. Even if we are a born again child of GOD we must keep watch over our own hearts for if we allow them, they will decieve and misguide us "down many rabbit holes".Jeremiah 17:9 warns us that the heart is deceitful above all things. The word "ear" in the Hebrew text of Jeremiah 7:24 is "azan" which also means a musical instrument. In the phrase "incline one's ear", the word "incline" is the Hebrew word "natah" which means to stretch out and also means to tighten strings, such as the bow of a bow and arrow and the strings of a musical instrument. We therefore have a picture here of tuning our ear to God's wavelength. Like the instruments of the orchestra all tune to the note A played by the oboe, are we keeping the ear of our heart in tune with the shofar call of The Holy Spirit?

The word "shofar", the ram's horn blown at the Feast of Trumpets and throughout the Hebrew month of Elul shares the same root as the Hebrew word for the amniotic fluid, "shafir" that surrounds the growing baby in the womb. When the amniotic sac bursts and the "waters break" the birthing process is set in motion. The increase of the blasts on the shofar and the final long blast may be compared to the labour process in giving birth. The Lord Jesus Christ said in John 3:3 that we must be born again and in John 3:5 He said we must be born of water and The Spirit. Listen to today's message and be amazed at the glory of GOD and again the absolute sanctity of all human life.
