The Beautiful Heart Of GOD Part 4:
We have been looking at the Hebrew word "nacham" meaning to sigh in sorrow or relief or consolation. Today we will start to look at the Hebrew word "racham".
The Hebrew word, "racham" is often translated in English as, "tender mercy" but it is a beautiful word that means the pure, tender, caressing affection of a mother for her child within the womb and nursing at her breast. It is also the word for womb in Hebrew. The two concepts of tender mercy and womb are linguistically linked. This word "racham" is used many times in the Scriptures to reveal to us the love of GOD for human beings, from conception in the womb. It reveals His longing for every human being to turn to Him in repentance and receive His abundance of mercy and forgiveness. Have a look at just these few examples: Psalm 25:6 and 51:1, Hosea 2:23 and Isaiah 49:15. Let us be sure to not reject the abundant tender mercy of God which has been tangibly displayed in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ( Romans 5:8) Human beings are created in the very likeness of GOD Himself. Like the love a parent has for their child, "racham" cannot be earned or deserved. It is unconditional and eternal. It will overlook great offenses. It is both pure and perfect. It never diminishes but remains constant and unchanging.

The Beautiful Heart Of GOD Part 3:
Let us look at Hosea 11:8 where GOD is describing the condition of His heart as a result of the rejection of His own people. They had willfully rebelled in idolatry against Him and removed themselves from His Protection and were marching towards self destruction. He is saying that His “heart is turned within him and his repenting is kindled together.”
The word translated as "turn" is the Hebrew word "hafak" in Hebrew. It has the idea of churning, ruin, overthrown, and destroyed. It is also a word for an imprisonment or putting in stocks and is used to express a tumbling . ABBA Father is saying that His heart is ruined and destroyed and His "repenting" is kindled. "Repenting" is the translation here of the Hebrew word "nacham" which is a word expressing the sigh of sorrow, anguish or grief and the word "kindled" is kindling like making a fire or smoldering. In other words GOD's heart is utterly broken and His grief is burning. Grief is often described as a burning ache within that never truly goes away.
What could break the heart of the Creator of of the universe? The first part of Hosea 11:8 tells us what has broken His Beautiful Heart. "How shall I deliver you O Israel?" This is a cry from the very heart of GOD.
"How shall I make thee as Adman and Zebiom.?" Together with Sodom and Gomorrah that were destroyed ,there were other cities in close proximity to them that were destroyed with them including Adman and Zebiom.( See Genesis chapter 19)
We desire to reach our neighbor with the Gospel message because we don’t want them to go to Hell. But do we also want to reach our neighbor because we know it will break the heart of the GOD we love, Who would be heartbroken if that person were to die without knowing Him and His Love for them?
GOD is so Holy. He cannot overlook sin. But His desire is always for Mercy to triumph over Judgement.
See John 3:16-18
Luke chapter 15 and 2 Peter 3:9

The Beautiful Heart Of GOD
Part 2:
(Please see notes from Part 1 to fully follow this teaching)
We are looking at the Hebrew word "nacham" meaning to sigh, breathe deeply in relief, or in sorrow, or in comforting /consoling oneself. We saw how the English translation of this word often paints an inaccurate depiction of GOD as in Genesis 6:6 where GOD sighed in anguish and sorrow of heart, and in Exodus 32:14 where GOD sighed in relief that Moses interceeded for the people of Israel so that GOD 's Hand of protection would not be removed from them.
In Ezekiel 32:14 The LORD says
“I searched for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” The word picture painted in this verse is that of a wall with a hole or a gap in it. A wall was the best means of protection in ancient times. A breach in the wall would let the enemy through. If there was a breach in the wall, defenders would have to swarm to that location and hold the breach. The gap would need to be repaired as soon as possible. If a breach was left unattended or unrepaired, the city would fall.
” The “gap” here represents the danger facing Jerusalem: God’s wrath is about to break through in judgment on the sinful city. Was there no one who would, in righteousness, intercede on behalf of the city and seek God’s mercy? God searched for such a defender, but He could find none. It seems that, if someone had been willing to “stand in the gap,” the destruction of Jerusalem could have been avoided. Since no one was available or willing to defend the breach and rebuild the wall, judgement broke through and fell upon the people.
We see this same picture of Moses when he interceeded for the people in Psalm 106:23 NLT
"So he declared He would destroy them. But Moses, His chosen one, stepped between the LORD and the people. He begged Him to turn from His anger and not destroy them."
Besides Moses, there are several who have understood the Beautiful Heart of GOD and “stood in the gap” and interceded for others. In Genesis 18 Abraham intercedes for Sodom. Stephen prayed for those stoning him (Acts 7:60). Paul prayed for Israel’s salvation (Romans 10:1). And of course, the LORD Jesus Himself is the Master of standing in the gap, praying from the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34), and continuing to intercede for us even right now as our Great High Priest (Hebrews 7:25).
1 Timothy 2:1 instructs us all to make intercession for all people.
GOD Himself commanded that the Ten commandments were kept in the Ark Of The Covenant and that on top of the Ark was the Mercy Seat upon which the blood of the sacrificed animals was put. The Lamb Of GOD, Christ Himself, has put His own sinless blood upon the Mercy Seat in Heaven. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us that for our sake, Father GOD made Him, The Son Of GOD, Who never knew sin, to become sin on our behalf on the cross, so that in Him we might take on His righteousness.
John 3:16 declares to us the Beautiful Heart of GOD. The wrath and justice of GOD for sin was satisfied in the death of Messiah Himself.
Tomorrow in Part 3 we will look at the amazing language of Hosea 11:8 where we see The Lover watching His beloved self destruct in their idolatry and weeping with deep sorrow over them.

Part One of a study of The Heart of GOD:
Many times through the Scriptures we read that GOD is immutable, unchanging. He doesn't change His mind as if subject to whims as a man may do. ( See Malachi 3:6,Hebrews 13:8,Numbers 23:19, I Sam 15:29,Psalm 102:27, 2 Timothy 2:13, James 1:17 and many more!)
Yet, in Genesis 6:6 and Exodus 32:14, the English translations paint a picture of GOD that seems to contradict the immutable character of Yahweh.
How can that be?
The Hebrew word often translated as "repent" in these passages, is the word "Nacham" which means to sigh. We sigh in sadness, or in frustration, in disappointment or regret, or relief, comfort and joy. Because GOD is completely holy and just ( See Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8and Leviticus 19:1-2 and more!) sin must be punished, but The Heart of GOD longs to show Mercy.
In Genesis chapter 6 we read of how women at that time had sexual intercourse with fallen angels and their offspring were hybrids, part human and part fallen angelic beings. They were called the "nephillim" which means the" fallen ones". Satan was seeking to utterly corrupt the human seed, the human DNA because GOD had told him in Genesis 3:15 that through a woman One was coming Who would destroy him. That Seed was and is Jesus Christ, Yeshuah The Messiah. HALLELUJAH!
In Genesis 6:6 we read in the English translations that GOD was sorry or repented that He had created mankind. Here we have this Hebrew word "Nacham", meaning to sigh. God's heart was broken, being deeply grieved and full of sorrow. It wasn't that He changed His mind and repented of something wrong, or a mistake, He sighed in deep anguish and sorrow of heart.
Noah was a type of Messiah. His name means "comfort" and comes from the Hebrew word "Nacham", to sigh, and here it means to sigh in comfort, relief and joy, because Noah 's seed, his generations, his DNA was not corrupted and he walked in close fellowship with GOD. (See Genesis 6:9)
Noah was a type of Messiah.
In Exodus 32, we read how the people of Israel made for themselves a golden calf to worship.
GOD is Just and Holy. Justice must proceed from Him but Moses, who is also a type of Messiah, knew this about The One with Whom he spoke with "face to face" before His Presence, as a friend ( See Exodus 33:11,Deuteronomy 34:10 and Numbers 12:8) and therefore quickly interceeded for the people, declaring His Covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
In Exodus 32:14, the literal translation from the Hebrew word used "Nacham" is that GOD sighed. He sighed in relief because Moses "stood in the gap" in intercession for the people and Mercy triumphed over Judgement.
Justice was averted by Mercy because of the intercession of one man, Moses. For those who trust in The Messiah, The Saviour The LORD Jesus Christ, because of His sacrifice of Himself and His sinless blood, we pass over from being under God's Judgement to being under His Mercy.
(See Colossians 1:13, 1 Peter 2:9 and John 3: 16-19).
We will continue with Part 2 of this study tomorrow.

2 Timothy 3:4
The words “lovers of pleasure” are a translation of the Greek word "philodonos" , which is a compound of two words, "phileo" and "hedonos." The first word, "phileo" , is a word that conveys the ideas of affection and love. It can denote an affection so deep that it even embraces the idea of romance and is from the same root word in Greek that means to kiss.
In 2 Timothy 3:4, Paul compounded the word "hedonos" with the word "phileo" to clearly explain to us that people in the last days will become obsessive and passionate “lovers of pleasure.” Because the word "phileo" means to have a deep, profound love and can convey the notion of a romantic preoccupation, this emphatically forecasts that people in the last days will be preoccupied with, and in love with the pleasure and the pursuit of happiness for themselves.
The English Dictionary says “hedonism” is the doctrine that pleasure or happiness is the highest good; It is the addiction to, and obsession for pleasure, as a way of life. Paul used the Greek word "philodonos" to say that society in the last days will become preoccupied and obsessed with the pursuit of their own comfort, pleasure, and happiness. The Holy Spirit is emphatically declaring that people in the last days will be obsessed with comfort and pleasure.
Happiness is fleeting, but falling in love with the Person of GOD Himself produces obedience to God and His Word, which produces a deep profound joy that is unaffected by circumstances and unwavering.
2 Timothy 3:4 is a prophetic declaration that people in the last days will become completely consumed with themselves and that their own happiness and desire for comfort and convenience will drive them to unequaled selfishness.
This means people will be excessive lovers of pleasure — much, much more than they are lovers of GOD . In fact, their obsessive desire for their own pleasure and comfort will be so great that it will far surpass their devotion, respect, and service to The LORD GOD. In the last days, people’s thinking will not be ruled by what is morally right or morally wrong or what is pleasing or displeasing to GOD, but by the question: "How will this decision or action affect my own personal comfort, pleasure, or happiness?"
The enormous abortion rate in Western society proves this. People think nothing of killing an innocent human being because it may be an inconvenience.
The words “lovers of GOD ” in Greek is the word
"philotheoi". The first part of this word is "phileo" , and as noted earlier, it means to love or to be deeply affectionate. The second part of the word is word
" theos", the Greek word for GOD . But when these two words are compounded, as Paul does in this verse, the new word paints a picture of people who are deeply and profoundly in love with The LORD Himself .
Soon everything in this transient world will pass away, and only those things that were done with and for The LORD Jesus will remain.
The rise of this anti, Christ spirit of self-love is itself a clear sign of the last days, when people shall be “lovers of their own selves.” It is the main characteristic of New Age humanism and we must each guard our own hearts from it's seduction. I feel that the best way to keep it out of our hearts to simply fall in love with The LORD GOD Himself. Let us fall ever deeper in love with The One who saved a sinful wretch like me, and let the pursuit of The Father's Heart be our lifelong obsession.
Shalom.

Throughout the Word of GOD we come across the phrase "The Finger of GOD" in Hebrew "Etsba Elohim".
GOD is Spirit See John 4 :24
The LORD Jesus interchanges the well known Hebrew phrase Finger Of GOD in Luke 11:20 with Spirit of GOD in Matthew 12:28.
GOD created and fixed in His order the universe with His fingers
See Psalm 8:3
He warns those that would destroy Israel that only if that which He has fixed in the heavens should fail, would Israel cease to be a nation before Him.
See Jeremiah 31:35-36
In the plagues of Egypt Pharaoh 's magicians recognised that this was the work of The Finger of GOD but Pharaoh' s heart was hardened.
See Exodus 8:19
The 10 commandments were written on tablets of stone by The Finger of GOD
See Deuteronomy 9:9-11 and Exodus 31:18
When King Belshazzar defiled the vessels of gold and silver from The Temple in Jerusalem, the Finger Of GOD wrote of his judgment on the wall, and that night he was killed. See Daniel chapter 5. The LORD Jesus wrote in the sand with His finger as a group of religious leaders sought to condemn a woman caught in adultery to death. See John 8:1-11 Whatever The LORD wrote with His finger caused each of them to drop their stones of execution and walk away. The Finger Of GOD revealed the Grace and Mercy of GOD.
We are each created in the image of GOD Himself ( Genesis 1:26-27). We are spirit, soul and body ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
With the fingers of GOD we were each woven or knitted together in the womb of our mother ( Psalm 139:13)
Anyone who will fully seeks to destroy the work of The Spirit of GOD, The Finger of GOD, Etsba Elohim whether it be the life of a human being in or outside of the womb, or the nation of Israel, picks a personal confrontation with GOD Himself.

In Genesis 12:1-8 we read that after 75 years of being raised and living with his family and all that was familiar in Ur, a place of many false gods including the worship of the moon god Nanna, Abraham ( then known as Abram) was called out by The Living GOD, Yahweh to get out of Ur and leave everything he had known behind. Our life is made of several seasons on our pilgrimage and we may be called more than once to leave familiar territory and comfort and move our tent into a new environment. In order to pursue The LORD and finish the course He sets before us, we will be challenged to leave and get out from ("Lech lecha" in Hebrew) that which is familiar and comfortable, be it physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, psychologically, culturally or maybe a combination of them all! In Canaan Abram/Abraham was the minority of one in the midst of a majority of many whose patterns of behaviour were of worship of self and the demonic false gods. In fact both The Bible and other historical accounts tell us that the Canaanites were among the most cruel, obsecene, pornographic, people to have ever lived. They indulged in obscene sexual acts , beastiality and human sacrifice especially that of babies to the god Molech. It sounds tragically familiar to the western world today where the worship of self, of youth, and of sexual indulgence is exalted. Human life has become cheap. Babies are sacrificed to the satanic altars in abortion clinics every day. The elderly are becoming increasingly vulnerable to satanic laws such as the assisted dying bill. That which in Leviticus chapter 18 is listed as so vile that the earth vomits out the people is hailed as both normal and liberating, whilst actually it is the enslavement to sin and eternal death.
In the public midst of all, Abram/ Abraham built an altar to The LORD GOD. See Genesis 12:7
He "nailed his colours to the mast" telling all those around him that he would not be moved from his worship of The One True GOD. We each must build our own altar to The LORD. To live for The LORD in this world system demands that we do. Like the sailors who nailed their Sovereign 's flag to the ship' s mast as they sailed into battle so that it could not be pulled down in surrender, we too are challenged to refuse to surrender to the status quo, to popular opinion or political pressure. We face it everywhere now. Each of us, sooner or later will be required to obey the call of GOD and leave what is comfortable and to build an altar to Him in public view. The churches of our nation must rise up from the stupor of compromise and build an altar to The LORD GOD. We cannot assimilate with the practices of the Cananites. Leviticus chapter 18, in particular verses 3 and 27,needs to read to many of the so called "leaders" of the churches of Great Britain today.
