What’s In A Name Part 4.mp3

What's In A Name Part 4 Carrying on our study of Genesis 14 :1-7 The Hebrew names convey revelation to us from The Holy Spirit. Abraham went out after these wicked kings, who represent the ways in which Satan takes people captive, because they had taken his nephew Lot captive. We too are commissioned by our LORD Jesus to rescue those held captive in spiritual darkness. See Isaiah 61:1, Colossians 1:13 and Mark 16:15 In verse 2 we have reached King Shemeber. "Shem" means name. Jews refer to the LORD GOD as, HaShem. They won't pronounce the Holy Name of GOD. This arrogant king uses the word "shem" and then "eber" meaning to be" lifted up", "lofty" " on high". This is a demonic arrogance. GOD alone is high and lifted up See Isaiah Isaiah 57:15 and Isaiah 6:1 He was king of "Zeboim" which primarily means "gazelles" but in Biblical Hebrew the Valley Of Zeboim is known as the "Valley Of Hyenas" and known as a desolate wild place. Hyenas in Scripture are associated with unclean animals and the demons. See Isaiah 34:14 in the context of a prophetic description of GOD's judgement and pictures of Hell. This king was, also king of "Bela" which means" to devour " or" to destroy ". The Devil is The Destroyer. See John 10:10 and Revelation 9:11. The word" Zoar" simply means "small". Although The Destroyer likes to appear powerful, to GOD He is tiny, minute and his own utter destruction is soon to be carried out. See Revelation 20:10 Hallelujah! In Genesis 14:5 we read of the "Rephaim" meaning "giants" and are connected to the "Nephalim" meaning "Fallen ones" of Genesis 6, half human and half fallen angel creatures that Satan uses to try and corrupt the human DNA because GOD had declared that there was coming somone to be born of a woman who would utterly destroy him. See Genesis 3:15 Noah however was "perfect in his generations" (Genesis 6:9) meaning his genes were uncorrupted by the mix of fallen angel and human intercourse. These giants were from "Ashteroth-Karnaim" meaning "Ashteroth Of The Two Horns". Ashteroth was a, Cannanite goddess of fertility often worshipped alongside Baal also known as the "Queen of Heaven" See Judges 2:13, 1 Samuel 7:3-4, 1 Kings 11:5 and 33 and Jeremiah 44. Next the "Zuzim" meaning "moving things" and "mighty things" were related to the Rephaim and hence also to the Nephalim. They are also related to the ZamZummim, another giant- like people in Deuteronomy 2:20 "Ham" was simply a place east of The Jordan. Next the "Emim" meaning "fearful ones", again a giant-like people known for their terrifying size and strength, related to the Rephaim and Nephalim and mentioned in Deuteronomy 2:10-11 They were from "Shaveh-Kiriathaim" meaning the "plain of the twin cities" east of the Jordan. Twin cities in Scripture often highlight duality between sin and righteousness, rebellion and worship, destruction and salvation, serving as powerful metaphors for the only 2 possible destinations of human beings. In Genesis 14:6 the "Horites" are traditionally described as "cave dwellers" but their name comes from the Hebrew root word "harar" which means to "burn with anger" and "Seir" literally means "rough, hairy or shaggy" referring to the mountainous region of Edom, but this word "Seir" is also used metaphorically for both physical and spiritual storms, portraying an image of both fury and chaos- anger that is out of control. Uncontrolled anger is extremely dangerous and demonic. See Proverbs 22:24 and James 1:19-20. We will look at the amazing meanings and spiritual truths in the names in Genesis 14:7 in tomorrow's broadcast.. Whether we like it or not, we live in a spiritual war zone on this earthly pilgrimage. The Holy Spirit in these Hebrew names reveals much to us to help and equip us. Shalom shalom
