What’s In A Name Part 7.mp3

What's In A Name Part 7. We have seen in this mini series that our identity is to do with our destiny. See John 17:14-16 and 15:19 Romans 8:28 says that GOD works all things together for good for those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose- to those who are yielded and submitted to Him, seeking His purposes to build His Kingdom and not our kingdom. In Ezekiel 9:4 those that wept at the corruption and depravity in the city were marked by GOD. Do we weep at what is happening all around us. Do we sigh and lament over the daily slaughter of the unborn ? Do we weep over the evil  and depravity that is applauded and exalted in our land? We bear the mark of our Owner and should mark us out in our society. Those who refuse to do so are vilified. Let's look now at the identity The LORD Jesus has promised His own beloved ones. See Revelation 2:17 and 3:12  Remember the Greek word translated "church" is "ecclesia" meaning "called out ones" and has nothing to do with buildings. The called out ones at Ephesus are commended for their endurance and for hating what He hates and loving what He loves. They are promised a white stone with a new name. In ancient courts a white stone was lifted by the jury members to say "not guilty". It represents us being made pure by the blood of Christ and new creations in Him. See 2 Corinthians 5:17 Even more than this, it is a personal name of intimacy and endearment between The LORD Jesus, The Lover of our soul, and ourselves. We will have a new name known only to us as individuals, The Holy Name of GOD written upon us, The name of The New Jerusalem and a new name from Christ for us.  Paul the apostle bore brand marks upon his body. See Galatians 6:17 They identified him as the slave of Christ Philemon 1:1/ They were marks of shame and reproach in the eyes of the world. 1 Corinthians 9:22 They were the brand marks of a soldier 2 Timothy 4:7 They were marks of devotion and loyalty 2 Corinthians 5:14 See 2 Corinthians 11:23-33 His body would have been severely scarred. We are all known to GOD by name. Is our individual name written in The Lamb's Book of Life?  See  Revelation 20:11-15 We are known individually by name whether on the earth or in the spirit realm. See Luke 16:19-31 Our Shepherd calls us by name See John 10:3 GOD said to Moses " I know you by name"- a statement of intimacy. Exodus 33:17 We are known by name and called of GOD before we are ever conceived in our mother's womb. See Jeremiah 1:4 Isaiah 45:1 names and calls King Cyrus of Persia 150 years before he ever became Cyrus The Great and ruled Persia in 559 to 530 BC He was a pagan king who GOD worked through to help the people of Israel return to Jerusalem after 70 years captivity in Babylon and rebuild Jerusalem. See the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Our identity is found in Christ Jesus. "Our Father in Heaven, hallowed, revered, worshipped and adored be YOUR Name" ( Matthew 6:9) Amen Shalom shalom
