My feelings must never be my god. GOD alone is GOD. My feelings do not define Truth. The Word of GOD alone is and defines Truth. If I trust in my own feelings they will lead me over a cliff. Many times I have found myself at the bottom of that cliff ... My emotions do not inform reality to me, rather, The Word of GOD must inform and instruct my emotions. Yet, the world system exalts emotions to an imbalanced dangerous position which is actually the worship of self. The lions of our emotions must be trained and never allowed to become wild devouring beasts. This is a lifelong training and one that we can never afford to disguard. Our feelings must never be our master. Let's look at 6 things that it means to be "in Christ Jesus" : 1) 2 Timothy 1:9 The grace of GOD has been and is available to me. 2) Ephesians 1:4 I was chosen to be in Christ from before creation 3) Romans 8:38-39 I am loved by GOD with an inseperable love regardless of how I may feel. 4) Ephesians 1:7 I was and am redeemed and forgiven for all of my sin. 5) 2 Corinthians 5:21 says I am justified before GOD and the righteousness of Christ Himself is imputed to me. I cannot make GOD love me less or more. I cannot save myself. I cannot add or subtract to what Messiah has done on my behalf. His faithful love is consistently constant and unrelenting. To be in Christ is to be in GOD Himself. 6) 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 3:26 tell me that I am a new creation and a son of GOD. So, regardless of swinging emotions, on hormonal yoyo strings, GOD is our Unchanging Eternal ROCK of Ages. Emotions are gifts from our Heavenly Father but because of our fallen nature in Adam, they must always be trained, like lions, to be under our mastery and not the other way round or they can be so destructive to both ourselves and others. I am sure we all have personal regrets of when we allowed that to happen. Thanks be to GOD for His mercy and grace towards us in Messiah Jesus, Yeshuah. Let's stop finding ourselves at the bottom of that cliff and keep the lions in training and under the subjection of The Ruach Ha Kodesh, The Holy Spirit and The Word of GOD which tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13) Shalom
